Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by William S — 09 Mar 2010
Wes Anderson's feature film debut is a classic for film-lovers and anyone who wants to hates the fact that Juno is really just a rip off of Wes Anderson (and not nearly as good). This movie is a silly screwball heist comedy starring the Wilson brothers, Robert Musgrave, James Caan, and a charming unknown to the average American; Lumi Cavazos.
... The film is thoroughly witty and is fantastically subtle. It doesn't have the same punch as some of Anderson's later masterpieces, but it is none-the-less a worthwhile film experience. I liked it a whole lot.
I could have given it a higher score, but I think that I liked it so much because I already like Wes Anderson. Well, tell what you think when you see it.
