Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Chris T — 05 Dec 2007
Cruelty and irony of war is brilliantly portrayed in this film. Nice critic to american society concerning war and everything that comes with it. Hey, Vietnam and the '68 brought tons of revolutions, isn't it? Too bad the ommission of all the social revolutions of the '68.
Anyways, the script's very well written, and it has the charm of developing both the enviroment and the main character at the same time. The photography's amazing, and the reconstruction of american society of the dazed days before and after the Vietnam war. Performaces were really good, even Tom Cruise.
Good film with a nice reflextion about war and all the things that come with it, and society's reaction to it.
