A powerful film about how the vietnam war affected those soldiers that came back home unable to cope with the horror of war. Tom Cruise portrays real life vet and activist ron kovic who always wanted to fight for his country but coming back from the war the only thing he has to fight is his own personal demons and the shock of war.
with the best tom cruise performance and a great supporting cast which includes a very good raymond J Barry, a very passionate Kyra Sedgwick who made a name for herself after this film, and two very good cameos from willem dafoe and Tom Berenger.
With a tragic emotional story, great direction from oliver stone and a haunting score makes hti sone of the best films of 1989.
