Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Brad S — 05 Jul 2010
Tom Cruise's quirky intensity works really well in this movie. There's is something very believable in his portral of Ron Kovic an ex-Marine who is paralyzed in Viet Nam and must now come to terms with his new life in the United States.
Tom Cruise usually creeps me out, but here he is really quite good. The story itself is a little lacking and if it wasn't for Cruise Born on the Fourth of July would have been boring. On another note Oliver Stone's fasination with the 60's generation is almost as creepy as Tom Cruise, but hey it seems to have worked out pretty well for both of them - shows you what I know.
