The best oliver stone film by miles but he does dwell on vietnam a little too much. cruise makes this film happen with an awesome performance as a soldier who loves his country and fights for it in nam and comes home crippled having to live his life in surroundings that have changed and eventually he campaignes as an anti war activist.
this is a very emotional movie with cruise delivering one of his best performances to date.
