Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Bradley H — 09 Mar 2011
Despite strong performances and a powerful score, I couldn't have helped but feeling that this picture could have been just a little bit better. It is a heartfelt film and captures the time of the Vietnam War perfectly, but overall there seems to be something missing.
Don't get me wrong, Born on the Fourth of July is a great film, but I was hoping for something different from the story. Stone has made a great tribute film to veterans and it is entertaining. If in doubt, see it.
