Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Jonny B — 31 Mar 2011
There's a lot to like: Robert Richardson's photography is simply remarkable; Tom Cruise is Kovic; Stone's directing is, as usual, incredible. However the film has a weak narrative and never reaches the powerful potential the movie was capable of.
It's still worth a watch - there's too much beautiful art and great performances for me not to recommend it.
