Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Carl W — 20 May 2012
Tom Cruise's preformance is as good as it gets, and of course Oliver Stone's direction is overwelming. It really sets you in the age, and time of when this was happening. Protest, and propaganda fills the sky, as Tom Cruise comes back for the war in vietnam.
At first he is for the war, and is a steamy patriot. After time goes by, he becomes a protester, and is determined to put a stop to the madness. This is one the best of 1989, and an instant Stone masterpiece.
