Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Kari K — 21 Jun 2007
I just saw this for the second time and was still moved by it. I admire what Zana did with those kids and I also enjoyed that this documentary didn't show Zana as a white savior or someone who came to India so save people.
She came to observe, she met these kids and wanted to help them- because she had the time and effort to do so as opposed to their families and the work they do. I'd be interested in what others think about this movie through a racial lens.
