Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Sara B — 08 Oct 2007
It's a standard movie really, in terms of its story telling, photography, editing technique etc. But as the film sucessfuly portrayed it, a piece of art is not about (only) mastering the skill of the craft, but having access to a story and finding meaning in it.
These little children picked up a camera for the first time, a humble pocket camera, and successfuly produced such an inspiring and emotive shots.
