Review of Bordertown (2007) by Moses L — 10 Jun 2008
I thought that this movie could have been so much better. It was an extremely powerful story that dealt with some important issues that have too often been ignored. However it was poorly written, especially Lopez's character.
The parts of the story from her past were really not that interesting to me, and bordered on the melodramatic. Some parts of the story also defied logic. For instance Lopez's character can't really speak Spanish, but she goes undercover working as a factory in Mexico, and later she takes over a Spanish newspaper in Juarez.
Overall a missed opportunity of a movie.
