Review of Bordertown (2007) by Sydney Amman — 20 Jul 2008
[font=Comic Sans MS]Solid, gritty, no-nonsense story about life on the Mexican border, unintentional yet horrific consequences of NAFTA and recognizing one's true identity. This movie should make everyone who sees it angry - about the injustices in the world based soley on gender, economic status or national origin, yes, but mostly about the way that women can still be mistreated, devalued and thrown away in what we all want to pretend is modern, civilized, everyone-is-equal Western society.
