Review of Bordertown (2007) by María Elena B — 21 Aug 2008
Very good at telling a truth that should come out. . . .as a platform for that it succeeds. As a movie, it comes out mediocre. But for latino girls it's even more powerful as they can relate a lot better with the protagonist. However, deeper issues were left untouched, like rampant drug use and how complicated NAFTA really is (unlike the massive evil presented here) - but that's not the point that wants to be made.
The ending was a little weak, but forgivable.
