Review of Borderland (2007) by Justin L — 22 Mar 2008
Above average genre film and WAY above average for an After Dark film. There's definitely some talent on display here and it's clear that director Zev Berman knows what he's doing, especially visually.
The film looks great as far as low budget horror films go and the couple gore scenes are certainly handled well. My main problem with this was casting, the actors here are just not cut out for this material, they don't fit at all.
Aside from Sean Astin, who's one of the more sinister horror villains I've seen lately, the acting was very lacking. It's still worth a look though, it's an interesting story especially since it's true and it looks pretty damn gorgeous as well.
