Review of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000) by Rebecca R — 20 Jan 2010
Highly disappointing, especially compared to the far superior 'The Blair Witch Project (1999)' - although this fails compared to most films. The direction is lacklustre, the acting appalling and the dialogue is absolute drivel.
Takes a more standard movie-telling approach this time around, but makes reference to the first film, the story spills out in an incoherent mess lacking in much interest or any scares. While there is definite potential to explore the myth behind the Blair Witch, this instead offers a confused mess of a film too willing to follow standard horror movie cliches about paganism and witchcraft.
Stick with the far superior 'Suspiria (1977)' for witchcraft chills and thrills instead of wasting time on this trash.
