Review of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000) by Jeff B — 24 Jun 2010
The Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows will most likely dissapoint fans of the original because it's filmed the traditional way movies are filmed and not by hand held camera. It's about a tour group who go to Burkittsville (where the first blair witch project was filmed) and in the forest, the Blair Witch haunts them.
Or, at least that's my take on who haunts the tour group, since the movie never really explains that clearly. And that's what Book of Shadows biggest weakness is, it's never answers the questions it brings up, so it's up to the viewer to answer them as best they can.
Book of Shadows has maybe 2 good scares in it and a couple more mildly creepy moments, I'll leave it up to you to decide whether that makes it worthy of watching. I'd recommend Book of Shadows to horror fans, but it's not good enough for me to recommend it to anyone out of that circle.
