Review of Book Club (2018) by Alex G — 08 Jun 2018
This movie wasn't worth the $30+ for tickets, popcorn, and drinks, but it had it's moments... From a Latina perspective: I keep reading reviews that say Andy Garcia was boring, looked bored, etc.
.. Well, that's because he wouldn't be caught dead with Diane Keaton as a lover in this Universe, or any other one in which he shows up a Hispanic male. Just sayin'... Don Johnson and Jane Fonda I could see, and Candace Bergen with Richard Dreyfus, so cute; Mary Steenburgen and Craig Nelson - now there's BORING! I was hoping for a meatier script based on the combined intelligence of the foursome, but what I got was the equivalent of watching a very tipsy Diane Keaton on Graham Norton, plastering wet kisses on the other guests lips because she "loves kissing!" WTF? I want the Diane Keaton we saw in "Something's Gotta Give.
