Review of Book Club (2018) by Suzie S — 19 Nov 2018
Saw this in a very large room filled with senior citizens. Since I trust that laughter is the most genuine of critiques, they appeared to love it! This movie has an actor in it that I lothe, so that was a problem for me.Also,. I couldn't see the matchup of Jane and Johnson, so I had trouble suspending disbelief there. I had trouble with a rich inventor riding in coach and not being surrounded by a bevy of young things but Andy looked so gorgeous, I forgave that. I thought Candice stole the show. Her charcter's dating dilhemmas seemed believable and I liked the realism of the stupid son as his idiot father's best friend. I know people in that sort of situation. Her snide remarks were my favorite too.
I give it a four becasue in the end I found it a good use of my two hours-sitting with the seniors and enjoying their laughter!
