Four Grandma aged friends meet regularly for their little 4 lady book club. They've been doing this for decades. It seems that all 4 of them are in a slump of one sort or another with either love or sex. 4 different types each with her own love problem. One of them chooses Fifty Shades of Grey for their monthly book and the love adventure begins.

It's hard not to see someone you know in these ladies. Yes, I see a little of my mom here somewhere. This is definitely a chick flick. Would a guy want to watch this? Well, maybe. It is funny after all. Made me laugh.

I was inspired by the giant inflatable swan. I want one of those! But what would I do with it? Probably sit in a box in my closet until that one day I took it to the lake and then the kids would accidentally get a hole in it...We might get one though.

I particularly like that Don Johnson was in this, because of his connection to the movie trilogy made after the book trilogy featured in the book club: Fifty Shades of Grey. His daughter Dakota Johnson of course starred in that trilogy. I think it's a very loving tribute to support his daughter that way.

Vivian's character, unlike the other 3, is one I haven't seen in people I know around me in an obvious way. Not at THAT age. And then I realized, she's the female version of the womanizing old man that you periodically see in movies. When have I ever seen a woman her age in this role before? One doesn't come to mind. Is this movie breaking some ground? Perhaps. Not sure.

There is a message here, that it's ok for women to want and seek love and sex in their golden years, that second chances at love after the first 2/3 of your life are ok.

Still, I have known many cute little old ladies that limited their love life to reading romance novels, or just don't seem to think about that stuff anymore. They focus on their grandkids and/or great grandkids and that is that. But if you're 60+ and realize you're not ready for that aspect of your life to be done and over, here's your inspiration!
