Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Joe C — 19 Jul 2015
PT Anderson's "Boogie Nights" is a great movie. It is difficult not to enjoy it. In many ways the film still feels like a free-form-jazz-reworking of Robert Altman -- if Robert Altman ever made a movie about the 1970's porn scene descent into VHS oblivion.
Every member of the cast is great. But John C. Reilly and Mark Wahlberg steal the whole movie.
The sadness and tragedies we see are mixed with deeply comical moments. And it is interesting to me how iconic this film's final scene has become.
