Unflinching biopic with a great script about the porn actor Dirk Diggler. Slick, humourous, dramatic and ensconced in a well-executed aesthetic of the late 70's/early 80's adult film industry. Mark Wahlberg really is an excellent actor: believable, versatile, funny.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was interesting and creepy. Julianne Moore was surprisingly good. So many other great supporting performances too, notably Burt Reynolds.
