Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Lucas Y — 21 Feb 2011
One of my favorites. Arguably the best sophmore directing effort ever, thanks to PT Anderson showing off a little Robert Altman influence. While it's a look into the porn industry, this is also a great character study with top notch performances from Wahlberg, Moore, Reynolds, Reilly, Cheadle and especially Philip Seymour Hoffman in his creepiest role ever.
Boogie Nights also features one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Can't say I'd change anything about this.
