Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Ryan V — 05 Feb 2012
A smart, funny look at the 70's porn industry that is energized by a talented ensemble cast. The best parts of this movie are the small moments. Don Cheadle's pathetic attempt to defend his profession while trying to get a loan, Mark Wahlberg's awful pop music recording, and Juliane Moore's futile attempt to get custody of her child all resonate with believable pathos and uncomfortable humor.
