Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Alberto A — 11 Feb 2012
This film is a visual masterpiece. Paul Thomas Andersonâ(TM)s Boogie Nights tells the story of porn producer Jack Horner (portrayed by Burt Reynolds) who discovers some talent on a busboy (portrayed by Mark Wahlberg) and becomes the biggest porn actor in the late 1970s. But later on his career takes a downfall as he lets drugs and his ego take full control of him.
1997â(TM)s Boogie Nights has got to be one of the greatest dramas in film history; I mean this movie has it all. This flick demonstrating the Golden Age of Porn shows the visual skill and awesome storytelling that Paul Thomas Anderson is capable of. The visuals and storytelling in this feature are phenomenal but the performance by the cast doesnâ(TM)t stay behind. The cast demonstrates the complete potential that its actors have. Overall Boogie Nights is an excellent picture that deserves its position in movie history.
