Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Carl B — 20 May 2012
Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Boogie Nights' is said by some to be his greatest work as a flimmaker. It takes a look a look at a decade, when drugs were power, money was king, and the porn industry was at the peak of it's fame.
It also is at human emotion, like what Anderson did in 'Magnolia'. It is a dazzling look at 70's life, and people, who instead of doing what they want with their life, they fail, and finds fame in porn.
The way that Anderson works the camera, goes along great with the time period, the places, and the music just works to perfection in this film. I also love the character stuy, and the way these people fill about life, and the work that they do.
You see the rags to riches, and then see the riches back into rags in a overall brilliant film to make, and to be show.
