"Boogie Nights" is expertly put together. The script, cinematography, cast, acting and story are all spectacular and it's surprising to see some of these actors (who have over the years grown to be big names in hollywood) star in a movie about the porn industry.
.. and do it so well. It's funny and sad, inspirational and even thrilling at times. It's true that due to it's risque subject matter it may not be for everyone (and the 2 1/2 hr running time might be too much for you if you can't get into it) but if you stick with it you'll be thoroughly entertained.
