Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Ethan P — 13 Dec 2015
I really wanted to like Boogie Nights. It is a wild, very raunchy movie that becomes brutal and disjointed. It had a titillating premise and started with promise, but it lost it's focus in the middle.
The plot digressed, the film is too long and I lost interest. There are moments of brilliance, like when Don Cheadle gets caught in the middle of a shootout at the convenience store and is the only one left alive.
The movie is also very depressing, so if you are expecting a fun, upbeat movie about dancing, this is not what you're looking for.
