Review of Boogeyman 3 (2008) by Katley M — 15 Mar 2009
I had mixed thoughts about this one. I went in with very low expectations because they changed the director from Jeff Bentancourt who directed Boogeyman 2 which I was a very big fan of to Gary Jones who has only worked on cheap Sifi movies.
Although the film was not as bad as I thought it would be, it still did not keep up with the previous installments of the Bogeyman series. The acting really sucked you get mediocre performances from the entire cast.
The gore I hoped would be a lot better than it was all that you get is one body breaking scene, a shot of a rib cage, and a lot of blood. Just blood covering the walls the floors, I actually think that they had gallons of artificial blood lying around and said well we have nothing else to do with it let's throw it all over the place and see what we get.
I was not a fan of the directing it was a bit to dicey for me. And the Boogeyman I do not know what they were thinking, it was obvious throughout the whole film that he was nothing but cheap animation.
But gladly the film did have some decent aspects including the soundtrack. I thought the music that they chose was right on track and fell in with the atmosphere of the movie, needless to say if this was a good movie that would be a nicer complement.
I also liked the fact that there were a few intense scenes that did make me jump. Bottom line don't be fooled by the clever poster Boogeyman 3 was nothing but a disappointing sequel to two great movies and is bound to be followed by yet another disappointing sequel.
But regardless the film did have an eerie tone to it, so if your home alone on a Friday night with nothing better to do go ahead and check this one out, but don't expect anything near as good as the first two films.
