Review of Boo (2005) by Corey N — 23 Jun 2007
Another haunted hospital movie, this time set during Halloween, and featuring the obligatory girl who can look into the past ala' Micheal J. Fox in the Frighteners. the hospital the gang go to was burned down years before by one of the psychiatric patients who during his stay at the hospital, Sexually abused a young girl.
Instead of giving the patient the keys to escape, a nurse throws them away and sacrifices herself for the good of the public. but as all people know, psychos don't just die, this one possess the bodies of anyone who enters the hospital.
Cue the scares.....
This film starts off really well and I was looking forward to a good psychological horror. but then the second act kicks in and we go into camp territory with the story and the cast. the cast are all really bad in their roles, and not of the cast can get close to the medium of acting.
As I have said before, the film tarts off really well, but by the end of the movie, it seems that the makers were not happy with the way the film was going and decide to play it for laughs, which makes the cast even worst. the narrative is really poor as is the editing, and unfortunately, the whole horrid thing goes downhill very quickly.
A very promising start, but is unable to keep up the pace.
