Review of Bonnie and Clyde (1967) by Jochen W — 10 Sep 2008
Nouvelle vague américain - obviously influenced by truffaut, godard & co., director penn and producer beatty gave a kickstart to new hollywood. seen in connection with these obvious predecessors, BONNIE AND CLYDE might not be that wildly innovative it must have seemed to american audiences of its time - but it stays a comic, bloody, sometimes dramatic ride through pulp and art territory, carried effortless by the stunning cinematography and the fabulous chemistry between beatty and dunaway.
