Review of Bonnie and Clyde (1967) by Bob L — 14 Mar 2011
Some call this the birth of New Hollywood, I see it as the death of Old. In terms of content, yes, it was revolutionary, took on the taboos of its day. In terms of style, I still see most other movies ever made, stages and lights and actors and costumes, I never really see Bonnie and Clyde.
Check out Badlands (or even Boxcar Bertha) for a better version of basically the same story. Gene Wilder's a riot, if you pay attention you can tell he's making fun of the weak script.
