Beautifully written. Great performances from Wilson, Jenkins, Fox and Russell. Writer, director and composer Zahler delivers an oddly paced deliberation about all the strange tropes of the frontier. Lots of horror as it ends.
The closing song "Four Doomed Men Set Out" cleverly comments on the grand Western ballads. Such an odd movie. Can't say I enjoyed it but I admire it. How did it get made? I have no idea how it got the green light.
