Review of Bon Jovi | Live at Madison Square Garden (2009) by Scott A — 23 Aug 2013
Love the band, but the farther along in life they go, the more Jon strains his voice to hit the high notes and it doesn't sound as natural as it used too.
But besides that, it's a pretty good show. Yeah, they don't do much special when putting on a show, and very rarely even talk between songs. They just play the hits, as they were, not lame new versions of them that newer bands seem to love to do.
The only big minus is that the copy I watched went to credits before the Encore could happen, and despite it listing Bad Medicine, You Give Love A Bad Name, Runaway and Bed Of Roses as part of the concert, we only get an audio only version of BM and then it ended. Maybe on the extras? I never checked.
But they do sing some of their more minor, and awesome, singles like Living In Sin and Blood On Blood.
Just wish those final four songs were there, as they are some of the more bigger hits.
I've only seen them live twice. One was for some company and it was a very short set at Miller Stadium(where the Milwaukee Brewers play), and the other time they were promoting BOUNCE, so many of their older hits were not played. Nice to see them here.
