Review of Bon Cop Bad Cop (2006) by Roy C — 26 Jul 2008
The highest grossing Canadian film...is actually pretty good. A really funny Lethal Weapon-esque comedy about two cops, one from Ontario and the other from Quebec, whom become partners to solve a crime about a killer who is killing members of the Hockey community (Can this movie be any more Canadian then that?) The film does a good job of tackling bilingualism and stereotypes from both sides of the line through comedy, and the two cops have a lot of good chemistry together.
However, the action scenes don't work that well visually, and seem like a rip off of American directors like Tony Scott or Micheal Bay doing those scenes.
