Review of Bon Cop Bad Cop (2006) by Richard D — 09 Sep 2014
A Canadian-spin on the buddy cop formula that doesn't do much beyond putting a Canadian veneer on the elements we've all seen before. When a murder victim is found on the border between Ontario and Quebec, an uptight English cop (Colm Feore) is forced to partner with a loose cannon French cop (Patrick Huard) to solve the case.
This is one of the more highly promoted Canadian genre films of late, and that says a lot about the sorry state of Canadian genre cinema. Feore and Huard are popular and engaging actors, but there's nothing new for them to do here.
