Review of Bommarillu (2006) by Mohammad Azhar A — 15 Mar 2010
Bommarillu was my inauguration into Telugu films. Mark this one as the sweetest movie I ever saw. Basically its just the same old story. Rich boy falls in love with poor girl. A very beautiful story with a lots of comedy, Songs are hummable even though I couldn't get the lyrics. No double meaning jokes, no exposing, hats off to director for his effort to keep it this clean...I don't remember exactly how many times I have seen the last scene of the movie, where the emotional discussion between hero and his dad....
Both Siddharth and Prakash Raj are excellent in their roles. But, it is heroine Genelia who walks away with the top prize for acting.... It is a standout performance. She looks almost perfect. Her character ( ha ha Hassini) is one of the most bubbliest characters I have seen for a long time in any kind of cinema. Genelia will make you fall for her.5/5.
