Review of Bolt (1995) by Jacob B — 28 Sep 2018
What Bolt lacks in comedy and originality, it more than makes up for with its fun animation that allows for enjoyable action sequences even with the knowledge that they're just in-universe sets, decent Truman Show-style premise, good voice acting and cuteness overload contributing to the start of the Disney Revival, whilst proving that Disney CAN make CGI movies without Pixar's help.
Then again, John Lasseter had become the CCO by the time this movie reached the production stage so that is a matter of debate. Eh, Bolt doesn't reach the heights of Pixar movies or DreamWorks comedy classics like the first two Shreks but it's still a fun adventure.
