Review of Boiler Room (2000) by Russ S — 09 Jun 2008
Apart from following the overall formula for the "smart kid learns crime/money/morals" movie, this is really well done, a Wall Street under the influence of '90s yuppies.
Some great characters, though most of them are jerks, and the screenplay seems to know its world very well. Giovanni Ribisi finally stars instead of being "the kid brother", Vin Diesel gets to act, and Ben Affleck gets to play a bastard, which he's actually consistently good at.
