Review of Boiler Room (2000) by Richard R — 02 Jun 2009
Giovanni Ribisi plays a young man named Seth who joins an illegal stockbroking firm whose goal is to intentionally rip-off clients by taking money for non-existent shares and stocks. At first, the new recruit is unaware of this, as is the equally naive Vin Diesel but before long the good members of staff find themselves in a world of guilt.
Boiler Room sets out to expose the reprehensive practices of a handful of businesses that for years has undermined the financial industry. Seth's life takes a turn for the worst when a federal investigation then threatens to ruin our hero's life by exposing him as a member of this callous gang.
