Review of Boiler Room (2000) by Jake P — 25 Jan 2012
Boiler Room is sort of the follow up or updated version Wall Street and displays how things haven't really changed much. It's very hard hitting and shows how you don't really need fancy college degrees to make money, just that you need the gift of the gab! The cast are amazing, including Giovanni Ribisi and Ben Affleck, who are on top form.
The hip hop soundtrack is also very cool. I guess it's a story about how urban or working class people try to make it through the doors which the upper class hold the keys to, and prove that they too can also be involved in the corruption, scheming and lying.
