Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Carolina F — 22 Jan 2019

Quite simply one of the best films I think I've seen in a long time. I think people tend to forget that the aim was never for the actors to be their real-life counterparts, but rather to capture the essence of who these people are. All of the actors did this brilliantly and perfectly captured what Queen was all about. Although the timeline of events was reshuffled in some places, it was done for a reason and did make for a much more exciting storyline, in my view. There is only so much that can be done within a 2-hour film, so obviously some things will need to be cut or moved around. I myself have no problem with this, as Queen members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, had a huge role in the making of this film, and their approval is enough for me to allow myself to enjoy the film as it is rather than getting angry over the chronological errors.

I am very excited to be able to rewatch the film in the comfort of my own home along with the bonus features that unfortunately didn't make the final cut of the film.
