Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Joseph C — 13 Jan 2019
As much as I really wanted to see a more gritty version, as was originally in works with S. Cohen, I still ended up loving this. I think most any fan of Queen is going to love this for the sheer fact that we've wanted an actual film for years. The acting in this is top notch and you can't beat the soundtrack and mixing. I am not usually affected by movies but I have to admit that I was broutht to tears multiple times in this film, as was my fiancà (C).
I highly recommend this to any fans of Queen and the genre as a whole. However, I also recommend this to anyone who is just learning about Queen. I was surprised how many of my friends walked out of the theater and said "I didn't realized Queen sang some of those songs". Even at their lowest point, they were still putting out solid music. I do hope there is a grittier version that focuses soley on Freddie someday, but this will do in the meantime. Also, to anyone that is giving this bad ratings due to Freddie's sexual preferences, grow up; it's 2019.
