Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Maddie M — 07 Nov 2018
I really LOVED this film. My dad played a lot of Queen when I was young and it was great to sit with him during the film. He laughed, cried, and sang every song. It was very entertaining and as someone who didnt know much about Mercury, I was very moved by the story told and now want to learn even more about him and keep his music going into the next generation.
I disagree that it was a muted expression of who is was... he was a human at the end of the day who needed peace and love and patience so people thinking it needed to be high energy and crazy all the time are not making space for him to be an actual person instead of just a colorful character on stage.
Its also a movie so it is limited by time and the need to stuff many things into shorter clips. Recognizing that natural tension, I hope people are able to get pass bad reviews and experience the story for themselves.
Kudos to all the actors and crew.
