Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Jono T — 15 Nov 2018
I went in and out of enjoying this movie. It seems like Brian Singer doesn't fully understand nuance or depth. It's skewed towards the perspective of the band, which I understand because mercury isn't around.
What's that saying? "History is told by the winners". It was like a song on an album that you half like. Certain parts felt authentic and emotional but as quick as they popped up were as quick as they left.
It did bring a tear to my eye in certain parts, which in this day and age, seems to be enough to label a movie good. An A for effort by Rami Malik in this performance...i think with better directing, story arch, and character development, it would of been oscar worthy.
Not this time. But..... Malek is in the right direction...pun not intended!
