Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Noah H — 07 Nov 2018
This movie is a great opportunity to think about queens history once more.
It's one of the best biopics I've ever seen, since the filmmakers worked closely with the real band. Jim Beach, Roger Taylor and Brian May all were producers in the film, making the movie one of the best researched biopics of all time.
The portrayals of the characters were very good, I especially liked the performance of Gwilym Lee, not only because he looks a lot like Brian May, but also, because he plays the character really well. Rami Malek as well portrays an amazing Freddie Mercury. He not only performs as the Entertainer, but also gets the audience to think about the dark times of Freddie Mercury, which is very important for the movie's storytelling.
If you wanted to see a movie about the whole band queen, this movie probably isn't the best to watch, because it really focuses on Freddie Mercury and his story. And that's probably the only think you could consider negative.
But in my opinion that's part of why the movie is so good.
