Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Vicki E — 08 Nov 2018
As a "misfit" from the 70's, who simply adores Freddie Mercury I just HAD to see this movie. It did NOT disappoint. I was drawn into a world where a man who was the epitome of confidence and the sadness and loneliness that fame brings.
Couple that with the fact that Freddie was finding his sexuality, Rami Malek was magnificent in his portrayal of this aspect of a complex and well loved icon. All I kept thinking throughout this movie was "this was one tight band".
Virtuosity is so difficult to re-create on screen. I felt this throughout this movie. And I laughed , I cried, and I re-lived my High School years! Isn't that everything a movie should be? I am sure there was some dramatic license in the telling of the story but who cares? Go and see this film you will not be sorry!
