Critics truly get caught up in wanting the movie to take a bold stance on Freddie's life when the truth his he kept it a mystery. The movie was respectful of what was fact without speculating too much into the unknown.

Mercury kept his life private and succeeded. We are seeing a critics trying to control the narrative of a really great movie. Bisexuality Erasure was a thing of that time and the people around him, to have portrayed it differently would have been an insult.
