Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Pauliina D — 02 Nov 2018
Professional critics can literally sod off. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. This is NOT an in-depth documentary about Freddy Mercury. This is a film that honors his showmanship as well as the incredible ground-breaking musical journey of Queen, the band.
It touches on all those aspects that us the viewers expect to see, without falling into the lurid or unnecessary details. We all know Freddy was born in Zanzibar, we all know his teeth were different, we all know he was gay and in the closet and we ALL know he died of AIDS.
This is a movie that celebrates Freddy and Queen. Not sure what else can be said about it. Go and see it, enjoy it for what it is and most of all, revel in the sound of your youth. It is not every day that you can take such a vibrant trip down memory lane.
The Queen is dead, Long live Queen!
