Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Kristina G — 02 Nov 2018
It seams cliché at first sight, but then you realize the creators stayed faithful to Freddie and the story. The didn't try to make a new "Freddie as you've never seen before, behind the scenes" movie.
You get everything; the chemistry in the band, nearly perfectly captured Freddie's personality, music making, humor, tragicaly beautiful love between Freddie and Mary, real emotions and fucking Live aid (if you are a musician, you can fully appreciate the actors for amazing performance, it's incredibly hard to learn everything, make it seem authentic, easy, like something you do at least 5h/day, and at the same time do it with all the characteristics of a different person, make it exactly as you must down to every minimal move but still make it believable and seemingly spontaneous).
All that wrapped in perfectly shaped storyline with ups and downs just on the right places. It's an impossible task to satisfy everyone. It was also almost impossible task to make it in the first place.
I personally was really impressed and moved by the movie and I hope it gets all the awards it deserves.
