Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Seth H — 03 Nov 2018
I found the movie fantastic. All the actors do the members of Queen justice. If you're going into this movie thinking you're going to get the lurid and juicy details of Freddie Mercury's personal life, then you're going to be disappointed.
This movie is a celebration of the life of the band while Freddie was in his prime. Why anyone is angry that they don't get to see some gritty movie that tears Freddie apart is beyond me. Why anyone wants to see the world's greatest front man, a gay icon, and a person of color torn down and riddled with AIDS is gross, and frankly, more than a little racist/homophobic.
Freddie deserves to be celebrated for the amazing man he was. He deserves to have his dignity preserved and not have his dirty laundry aired out in front of his family, friends, and the world. That is what you get with Bohemian Rhapsody.
